This moisturiser is like a cosy, cashmere blanket for your face. If your skin veers on the oilier, spot prone side, you can probably give this a miss. But if like me, you have skin that’s dry, sensitive and feeling the effects of a long winter, lack of sleep and general neglect, listen up.
It feels rich and buttery in texture, perfect for the driest of dry skins, although those who have more ‘normal’ skin could use it every now and then when skin needs a bit of a moisture boost. It’s particularly great after and intensive treatment or peel or if you’ve had a bad reaction to something else.
I have a stubborn patch of eczema that rears it’s ugly head every winter, but this time it’s been particularly difficult to shift. I’ve been using this everyday for a few weeks now and the difference really is incredible. Areas which where previously angry, sore and flakey are now just slightly pink and a bit sensitive, provided I don’t irritate them with too much make up that is. When I do, I find it sits on my skin a lot better.
If you find your makeup going chalky and crusty in certain areas part way through the day, it’s a classic sign of dryness and/or dehydration in the skin. Your skin pulls the moisture and/or oil out of your makeup leaving only the dry pigment behind. This works really well to prevent that by nourishing the skin and creating a really good base for makeup.
At £25.50 for a 50ml pot its very good value for what it does, outperforming lots of moisturisers that I’ve tried for double or even triple the price. Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra Comfortable Face Cream is available from FeelUnique and is currently on a 3 for 2 offer along with their best selling lip balm from the same range.
